Chinese New Year is a celebration of new beginnings and quality time with loved ones. As such, the tradition is usually to go out and purchase new things such as clothes or wallets and accessories to bring in the Lunar New Year, or to purchase gifts as presents for the ones you hold dear. This Chinese New Year, I was very happy to be invited by McArthurGlen to explore their range of designer brands at their beautiful Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and showcase their Chinese New Year collections as well as some of my favourite items at their amazing prices of up to 70% off.
My Favourite Shops and What I Bought
The pieces I chose ranged from some really good deals to just overall extremely cute pieces that I knew I had to take home with me! My budget was approx. £200, but I spent a bit extra and ended up taking home pieces worth up to a total of £233.
My first purchase was a beautiful sapphire blue velvet bag dotted with sparkling white gems from Kurt Geiger for £49, on a sale down from £99. It is such a beautiful piece and in a huge size that is big enough to fit my go-to Camera with its massive lens, so I am very happy with it and even happier with the price of £49 which you could easily spend on a faux leather purse from a high street brand.
My next purchase was another bag, this time from one of my favourite brands at Kate Spade. It was on a little clearance shelf right at the back and it was the only one left in that gorgeous metallic pale pink colour. The original price was £295, and it was down to £99. The size was once again perfect for me as I didn’t have enough bags that were big enough to hold my camera, not to mention the quality was perfect and it was nearly a third of its original price. Held it up against my outfit and I fell in love and knew I had to take it home with me. I also bought my friend a pair of rose gold earrings for her upcoming birthday from Kate Spade with her initials on it that cost £19.
One of my favourite jewellery brands is Monica Vinader, I have been wearing their pieces for over six years now and actually one of my first presents from my boyfriend is from this brand. I was over the moon when I saw that they were stocked at Cheshire Oaks! So, I popped into their beautiful store for a browse and fell in love with a gold vermeil moonstone ring. Moonstone symbolises new beginnings, which is perfect for the Lunar New Year. The ring retailed at £109 and I took it home for £52. Most items in store were selling at least 50% off, which means you can take home two pieces for the price of one!
As I had a bit left in my budget and was on the hunt for a cute retro style rugby top to pair with jeans or a checked skirt, I popped into Jack Wills to look at their cute and fabulously British pieces. I tried on some sweaters that were half off at £20 from £40, they were absolutely stunning and came in so many colours that it was so tempting to break my budget. However, I knew that I will always find a reason to come back so instead, I stuck to what I came looking for and took home this pale rose retro looking rugby top instead for £30, originally retailing at £45.

Chinese New Year Collections at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet
Just in time for Chinese New Year, Cheshire Oaksis celebrating by stocking limited edition Year of The Rat products at participating stores. Kate Spade has a fun and quirky collaboration featuring childhood cartoon favourites Tom and Jerry as well as Minnie Mouse, whereas Furla and Coach have opted for the more classic embroidery and engraving of a mouse on their red leather pouches and wallets. For those looking for a more generic Chinese New Year look, Ted Baker, Lulu Guinness and Paul Smith amongst many other brands stock some beautiful red pieces that are very in keeping with the celebrations.
Amazing Discounts and Chic Pieces
The best part of shopping at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet is the amazing amazing prices at which you can get beautiful designer pieces. The discounts go up to 70% off and is an amazing discount for those looking to own beautiful and current pieces for less. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the pieces they had in store were either very on-trend or elegant and classic, pieces that you would definitely invest in at full price and that is what makes shopping at this outlet so great. You can easily purchase a beautiful classic Furla, Coach or Kate Spade purse for under £100 and accessories such as Ted Baker shoes or Jack Wills sweaters go for less than £30. Mulberry bags retail at around £700, but here you can snap one up for £333, a price you wouldn’t even see if sample sales. It is the perfect place to treat yourself to something pretty, for far less money than you would spend elsewhere. Not to mention it is a great place to stock up on presents for loved ones, as you can gift them gorgeous luxury goods at a very affordable price with none of the quality compromised.
Fancy a Bite to Eat?
For those who fancy a break from shopping, the outlet offers a lovely range of restaurants and coffee shops. From go-to favourites like Starbucks, Costa and McDonalds to well-known bites such as Leon, Carluccio’s, Pizza Express, Comptoir Libanais, Yo! Sushi and Wagamama, the options are plenty in Cheshire Oaks. As I had quite a few shops to explore, I chose to pop into Leon to grab one of my all-time favourites, the Grilled Halloumi Wrap for a healthy and delicious yet speedy option. They also offer free tap water so make sure you grab a glass and stay hydrated throughout your shopping experience!
All in all, I managed to take home a bag from Kurt Geiger, two pieces from Kate Spade, one ring from Monica Vinader and a top from Jack Wills. A total of five high quality designer items for £233. It was amazing how great the discounted rates were and I had the best time browsing all the shops and looking at all the amazing reductions they were offering. Not to mention that the storefronts are very aesthetically pleasing with their Elizabethan Style exteriors and sleek and inviting displays. I had an amazing time shopping at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and definitely recommend you to go give it a try yourself this Chinese New Year, I promise you won’t regret it.
