New Road Hotel

Looking for a chic London getaway? Take it from me, newly opened New Road Hotel is your best bet. Located just a stones throw from Whitechapel station, New Road Hotel has prime East London real estate and is only a short distance from the city’s coolest café’s, vintage stores and Michelin star restaurants. The hotel oozes the kind of vibe that you would only expect to find in a boutique hotel in New York or Berlin with its exposed brick walls and stylish interiors. The hotel design is minimal yet efficient with plush accents. Every floor features trendy social rooms of which include a library, game Room, ironing room and rooftop yoga + fitness area.

For our visit, we stayed in the comfy Warehouse room on the 2nd floor with their gorgeous  and massive windowsill beds. It was the perfect place to curl up in on a rainy day and catch up on some reading. we actually forgot to pack any books with us so we just walked out into the Library which is located on the 2nd floor next to our room and picked up a book to read.  Did I mention that the library also offers unlimited cups of hot chocolate and tea? Hot chocolate is the perfect little treat in the afternoons. The room is super cosy and also feature a HUGE flat screen tv’. Little tip? If you have a Samsung phone, you can screen mirror your own favourite Netflix shows onto the room TV for the complete Netflix and chill experience. The showers have amazing water pressure and they also have some lovely soap and fluffy towels. However, the beds are hands down my favourite part of the room with the perfect amount of mattress softness and many many fluffy pillows.

For dinner, we had the pleasure of visiting the in-house restaurant by Michelin star chef Marco Pierre White titled Mr. White’s English Chophouse. The menu features deliciously made English classics and mainly focus on meat done well (and never well done, medium rare all the way please) in hearty portions. We ordered the scrumptious Chateaubriand for two with a side of truffle chips and a bottle of Marco Pierre White’s own 2016 red, which was the perfect combination for a cold London eve. The wine was delicious and smelled as amazing as it tasted and the meat was juicy and chewy with a mildly crisp outside. My only suggestion would be the truffle chipa as they were normal fries with a side of truffle mayo, whereas I would have loved if the chips were fried in truffle oil with a sprinkling of truffle and parmesan cheese on top. The more truffle the better in my eyes! All in all, it was the perfect evening as the service was absolutely top notch. With our bellies full, we went back up to our comfy comfy rooms for a nice long snooze till sunrise.

New Road Hotel rooms start at £129 per night
