Brunch is a magical thing and a fantastic excuse for late risers like me to have breakfast just that little bit later. As a West-London based girl, my first brunch hit list is focused on this lovely area – basically anywhere within an hour’s walking distance from Chelsea + Fulham.

So for my fellow lazy risers + egg lovers out there, here are my top ten brunch spots that are both equally delicious yet insta-worthy for you to tick off in West London.

TOM’S KITCHEN, Chelsea @tomskitchens

image5.PNGWhat I love: A Chelsea institution; think scrummy British breakfast staples with high quality ingredients. My all time fave is the black truffle, mushroom and cheese omelette for the savoury bound and the highly decadent brioche French toast for the sweet tooth.

What you should know: No reservations required but it’s always handy to make one to bypass the busy Sunday brunch crowd. Little bit posh, so little bit steep in terms of prices.

The insta spot: Grab a table by the front window or under the skylight near the back of the restaurant. The waitresses may look at you quizzically, but request to sit at the bar on the left end of the restaurant for the marble countertop shot, a great spot where you can also peek into the open kitchen and see the chefs at work.

BOYS ‘N’ BERRY, Fulham @boysnberry_london

image4 2.JPGWhat I love: Bustling, trendy and my all time new favourite in Fulham. Delicious lattes; iced soy and matcha yumminess. This place brings the cool brunch scene to Fulham.

What you should know: They serve big portions so order well. Walk-ins are fine and generally shouldn’t be any trouble even on a busy Saturday morning.

The insta spot: Bag the table near the window at the front of the restaurant for the best natural light. Similarly a table outside can equally give you a nice shot.

MURIEL’S, South Kensington @murielskitchen

image6 2.JPGWhat I love: This is an all time favourite for so many friends and I, Muriel’s is a one minute walk from South Ken tube and the easiest place for a quick brunch bite. Ice lattes here are frothy and the eggs royale have gorgeous orange yolks. Stay a little longer and mix brunch with lunch – the Muriel’s burger and a side of the crispest sweet potato fries is a must try.

What you should know: Muriel’s is a chain and though I’m not a fan of chains, the South Ken one is done very well. It’s a very popular spot so a queue may form and generally you won’t get a choice in where you sit.

The insta spot: Window table hands down, however you’ll need equal amounts of luck and punctuality to manage to bag the table!

BROWN & ROSIE, South Kensington

Processed with VSCO with c7 presetWhat I love: This Aussie joint does brunch splendidly; from its selection of Sydney roast coffees to its rainbow salads and acai bowls, it’s got it all. You will be pleased by the very pretty plate presentation and array of colours they incorporate in their dishes. The close proximity to South Ken station makes it a sweet spot to meet with friends on the go and a fantastic place for a bite to eat before popping off to the V&A Museum next door for some cultural appreciation!

What you should know: Very limited outdoor tables, although I guess winter is coming… Also recommended to go early as the fresh daily ingredients will run out towards the late afternoon.

The insta spot: Outside tables for sure. On a sunny day it is the best place to people watch and enjoy a golden tan. A table by the window near the back of the café will also suit natural light purposes on a breezier day.

 GAIL’S, Parson’s Green @gailsbakery

Processed with VSCO with c6 preset

What I love: Absolute star of a place for a chilled girly brunch catch up or a coffee pick me up. A two minute walk from Parson’s Green, this sweet-smelling haven (wafts of cheese, butter and cinnamon…mmm!) is easy to reach and a sweet proximity between two of my favourite exercise studios; The Power Yoga Company and Heartcore Pilates. Sporty brunch catch ups are healthy and delish – win win situation. Similarly, a fantastic place to pull out the laptop and get some work done – chargers are near the door so stay there if you need to stay plugged in!

What you should know: So you know how I feel about chains…and I promise this branch is one of the best.

The insta spot: Believe it or not, all seats are insta-worthy. Yes, it is possible and it exists! Granted if you sit with your back towards the window of course, so the natural light fills onto the table and your beautiful friend for that insta-worthy shot.

HALLY’S, Parson’s Green @hallysandlittleh

Processed with VSCO with e1 preset

What I love: This fresh cali-style brunch spot has hands down the biggest and most indulgent eggs benedicts-royales-florentine in this side of town. Creamy warm orangey goodness. Talk about brunch goals. Another win is the fluffly fluffy ricotta pancakes. Combined with the beach chic minimal interiors, Hally’s is a gem of a spot and definitely not one to be missed for those missing their quintessential LA brunch fix.

What you should know:  This place is busy busy and may take a while in terms of service – however it is definitely worth the wait. The restaurant also only really boasts gorgeous natural light on the outside tables and the large sharing table at the front of the restaurant, so if you are looking for the insta spot (below) you will have to be either in a small group or wait at the bar for your sun spot!

The insta spot:  The large wooden sharing table at the front of the restaurant, back facing the windows for that unobstructed natural light shot! Tables outside the restaurant also never fail to impress for that ‘I brunch alfresco’ shot.

BREW, Wandsworth @brewcafeuk

What I love:  Out of my entire list, this is one that I will happily return to again and again. In fact – I am planning to go tomorrow and any other chance I am able to really! The dish that stole my heart –and mainly stomach, is the Brew Melt. This is sourdough toast with a layer of ham and melty gruyere cheese (my all time fave French cheese), orange yolk poach eggs and a delicious creamy pesto smeared on top. The ultimate breakfast for a savoury-loving girl like me. Team that with the prettiest blue and white teacup sets, fluffy homemade banana bread and gorgeous hanging plants and you have one of the dreamiest brunch spots in West London. The café is also such a gorgeous little spot to pop open your laptop for some email catch-ups.

What you should know:  It is a little bit out of the way for most people who live in Central London / Chelsea. I happened upon this as my close friend lives nearby and I used to walk around this area quite a lot. This beautiful little café is based on a lovely little road called Old York Road and also features some amazing hipster restaurants for those in the mood for a wander. For those who want a more convenient Brew experience, the café also has branches in Clapham, Wimbledon and Chiswick. Although I personally find the Wandsworth one to be the most charming.

The insta spot: The nearest one or two tables to the windows – any outside table will also suffice but the ones on the inside have the gorgeous wooden surface and protection from the chilly autumn wind.

ANTIPODE, Fulham @antipodelondon

Processed with VSCO with c6 preset

What I love: This Aussie cafe has some of the best coffee in this area and some amazing twists on classic brunch classics. The acai and granola bowls are almost too pretty to eat and it’s proximity to Hammersmith station (picadilly line) makes it an easy spot to meet. A definite highlight in the menu is the funky kim chi cheese toastie; if you can handle a bit more than sugar and spice in the AM, go for this adventurous choice. A surprising mish mash of flavours that is actually done extremely well if you can stomach kim chi bright and early, I’m still deciding.

What you should know: Quite a small little place and can be busy in the morning. There also aren’t any natural light tables within the actual comfort of the restaurant so it is not an easy one for cute pics and nice atmostphere. However the coffee bar itself is really stylish and it is definitely one that takes its food extremely seriously.

The insta spot: As said above, there is quite a lack of natural light tables so I would highly recommend wrapping up warm and grabbing a table outside. If not, the wooden breakfast bar with the copper back is a great alternative to get that insta worthy shot.

TRUTH CAFE, Hammersmith @truth_cafe

image1 10.JPG

What I love: This place does huge portions and is just a relaxed no frills brunch spot. Large cups of tea, crispy toasties and massive fluffy pancakes. A stones throw from Hammersmith station (and Antipode, see above), it is accessible and friendly. They also do a stellar chai combo (chai tea latte with a shot of coffee) and it is hands down the most perfect drink to bring in the fall.

What you should know: It is quite a dark little joint so I would recommend wrapping up warm and once again either grabbing the window side high table or a table outside. I also found their menu slightly limiting in terms of fun brunch choices but it might have just been my mood for something not on the menu that day.

The insta spot: Definitely go for the outside wooden tables (go outside of the awnings if it isn’t too miserable of a day), and go for gold with that insta shot!

BAGEL BAKERY BAR, Chelsea @bbagelbakery

Processed with VSCO with c8 preset

What I love: Firstly, the alliteration in the title is already a winner. That said, what’s not to love about a place where literally everything on the menu comes with a side of crispy yet fluffy bagel of choice? There is a gorgeous selection of brunch faves as well as the B Vegan Breakfast (a vegan style english breakie) for those who don’t fancy some carb loading. The place itself is trendy and clean and an absolute fab find for brunch goers who want something slightly different but equally chic.

What you should know: It is an absolutely cute place however it is opposite the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, so perhaps grab a table nearer to the back if you want less hospital vibes with your meal! We sat near the door but still definitely enjoyed every moment there. Service is also not included so be sure to keep that in mind as the staff really are quite sweet.

The insta spot: Definitely go for the door side table (shut the door to escape the wind!) and get that natural light food snap!

Thanks so much for reading !! Please let me know if there is any I can add to this list and turn it into a fab FIFTEEN west london brunch list!!!
